| I climbed this one solo from Washakie Pass while backpacking with my Dad, my brother Guy,and a kid named John for 5 days. I had climbed Tower Peak (12,330) to the northwest three days earlier and we were on our way back to the Big Sandy Entrance after fishing and hiking along the way over Hailey Pass to Grave Lake, Baptiste Lake, and Washakie Lake. I remember being camped along the shore of Washakie Lake the evening of August 10th when the most spectacular thunderstorm I've ever experienced in the mountains rolled through the surrounding granite peaks. | |
