Ascended via the normal route with Gimpilator under perfect conditions. A great trip!
Went back on 7-11-12 with friends and got the East Summit along with the West in an effort to make sure we had the correct peak. The West Peak is a funner climb on the smooth E Face, the scramble up the ridge to the East Peak is also pleasant.
Since I'm an Anderson, and my grandparents are Watsons, a climb of both in this area was a natural! My daughter and I spent the night alone at one of the more remote Anderson Lakes, before doing the Watson climb.
Route Climbed: Anderson Lakes - East Ridge Date Climbed: August 1982
Duane and I did this one as part of a family backpack trip to Anderson Lakes. The party included our wives, Duane's two boys, and my daughter and son. The kids ranged in age from 3 to 6. They all carried small packs, but of course neither they nor their mothers accompanied us on Mt. Watson. This climb marked the beginning of a long and still continuing series of mountaineering adventures for Duane and me.
