Fall colors starting to show! Great short hike. It was fun but a little scary to climb the rickety tower. Hiked via George's Hollow.

Great training hike one of the first peaks that is free of snow early in the year. 4.95 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 2155 ft. Stop by The Living Room for a little break. Great views of the valley.

Climbed this morning with my 12 year old son Liam. Great morning with perfect weather. Ran in to crusty hardpack snow and the base of the first false summit. but nothing too bad. Spent an hour on the summit enjoying the sunshine and the handfull of other hikers that came and went. Climbed the tower too which was by far the scariest part of the day as I am terrified of heights. Celebrated the successful climb with lunch at the Pie. Very glad we made the drive from Ogden to hike this great mountain. Can't wait to get some more!

GO UTES!!!

I hiked this in the afternoon, pretty cool little hike, and a good workout. I hit snow for the last third of the hike. It was too cloudy to have any views.

I've done it several times in fall and winter in all kinds of weather. Seen lots of deer and a young bull moose in the area. My opinion: not a very interesting hike relative to all the other possibilities in the Wasatch. Its popularity must be because of its sheer ease and proximity to downtown SLC.

Mt. Wire has become a regular part of my training routine. It is a perfect way to get in over 2K in elevation gain in under an hour and it is so convenient and accessible. I have climbed it in all seasons and conditions. I have enjoyed peaceful sunrises and sunsets as well as raging storms. I’ve had several incredible wildlife encounters, including a herd of elk running a few yards ahead of us as we ran down from the summit and a close call with a rattler. I spent almost an entire day in Nov 2010 on this mountain with some great friends bagging the summit 5 times. This is a perfect training hike/climb/run for all seasons.

Fastest time up: 39 minutes.
Total summits: 61

On March 31, 2009 Dave introduced Brent & me to this pleasant little elevation gain of 2,300'. Surprisingly there was over a foot of new snow on top and scores of deeper drifts en route. Wildlife included a herd of deer and a large coyote. No snowshoes required today but they would have been nice to have for about 1/4 of the climb. 11-26-10 4x multiple ascent day, beginning at 6:45 a.m. W/ Matt, ZeeJay and Scott. Total time for quadruple ascent and return was 8+40. Snow all the way. #6 12-16-10 Solo. New snow on icy tracks - slippppery! 1+06 up. Then did Grandeur Peak. #7 2-19-11 Solo, 1+06 up, then did Grandeur Peak and 2/3 of Mt. Olympus. Light rain, light snow. #8 3-8-11 w/ JohnP Lewis. Broke trail literally the entire way from parking to summit - one foot of new snow! 2+03 up. #9 4-30-11 Solo. 6" new snow 1+07 up. Did Grandeur west route afterward. #10 6-4-11 First peak in the Triple Play (add Grandeur and Mt. Olympus, in that order) 0+58 up, dry. #11 11-3-11 1st leg of another Triple Play, w/ ZeeJay & Brent, 0+58 up again! #12 11-18-11 Had to go here because Mt. Olympus trail was closed because of bad automobile rollover accident. #13 12-13-11 Chilly, windy but no snow. 5.55 a.m. summit. #14 3-20-12 W/ ZeeJay, very little snow or wind, 1st day of spring! #15 4-21-12 As last leg of Reverse Triple Play w/ Gristle. 1+05 up, 0+45 down. Parking was a zoo because of Hogle Zoo attendees. #16 3-26-13 First peak in the Triple Play 1+23 up, 1+08 down Very little snow but tons of canyon drainage wind early on!

Climbed it from pioneer park yesterday with by bros. Whoa, it was a killer! thank god it was so short and we were at the top in about an hour and half. the descent took about the same amount of time. overall it was an excellent (if somewhat steep) hike and amazing views.

gotta try Georges Hollow next time :)

i hiked this without snowshoes or crampons despite the recent heavy snow we had this week; it was totally fine UNTIL i got to the trees at the false summit; from there to the top was a big snowdrift and it was slow-going. i made it though.
my wife had a telescope on our deck and could see me at the reflectors, that was cool.
i'll be back for sure, it was super accessible and an awesome view.
