Great page and wonderful addition to the Tetons on this site. Is there a standard route?

The descent route could serve as one, but I don't think that any route is standard because not many people climb this peak. Most visitors to Avalanche Canyon are dayhikers or climbers out to bag Taminah Arete on Matternaught Peak.

What would you figure the descent route would be rated if it was an ascent route?

Thanks! I'm always interested in a new Teton peak. This one is definitely on my list.

Thanks for the vote! This is a great Teton peak that sees very little traffic. Avalanche canyon is beautiful.

On an XC-ski outing with my wife in the early 80's I was very intrigued by what I think was Mount Wister. I'll pull out my photos and see if they match. Beautiful mountain in any case.

By the way, how are your India plans shaping up?

Thanks for the vote! We are getting it together. I'm trying to get my questions together before I call, so I don't waste everyone's time. First step is securing the time off and buying the ticket. Then things will happen fast.

I drove past this one recently when there was a thunderstorm on the Middle and the Grand. Good of you to provide the page for which several photos have sought asylum recently
