....because this is a new page, and maybe there's more to add, but here's hoping you've got some images of that summit view!

Heyy me and some friends just hit up Mount Wright yesterday and i would like to share with you that most of the forested area around the mountain burned last year during a very bad fire season for the Bob Marshall. We still made it to the top, however, the trail has not been maintained lately due to the destruction wreaked by the fire. But by god, that view at the summit is worth the strenuous hike of 3000 feet incline in only 3 miles haha.

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed that great view, and it's good to hear the road is apparently open. It was closed back in early July, so I'll update my page.

I hiked to the top of Mount Wright today (09/11/2010). The trail has been worked over this summer. Some new tread put in and cairns rebuilt. I had no problem finding and following the trail except for the snow drifts near the summit. The forest is burned but the ground cover is coming back. Lots of flowers there this summer.

The Fool Creek Fire of 2007 burned the West Fork Teton area. The road past the Teton Pass Ski Area was closed on week days in 2009 to permit salvaging burned logs near the road. That logging is complete and the road is open once again. The road will not be plowed in winter past the ski area.

The West Fork Campground was burned in the 2007 fire and has not been reopened. I haven't heard if it will ever reopen. Closest campground with water is the Cave Mountain Campground.
