Mount Wyrszgóra - Our hike – July 19, 2013

Purple Loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria - in Polish: Krwawnica pospolita) is native to Europe. In Poland it grows in all of the mountain ranges and can create colorful displays. It likes wet meadows and swamps. It can reach height from 50 to 150 centimetres. Each flower spike can have over hundred blossoms. Each blosom has five to seven petals.Other names of this plant include spiked loosestrife, purple lythrum, or salicaire.Purple Loosestrife has been used in folk medicine to stop bleeding. The Low Beskid - on the summit of Mount Wyrszgóra.
