Just happened to stumble on this one. Informative text and excellent pictures as usual, from a world class mountaineer. Good work, Fred!

Thank you for the kind words and the proof reading....

I have corrected all the typos on the main page and included your information regarding the Italian edition of the book.

I have noticed some of your postings and am curious. Are you an Italian moved to the US, or did you just spend a lot of time in Italy?

We spend so much time in Europe because Moni's mother lives in Zurich. Just two trips to the Dolomites so far, but I look forward to doing some more there.

I'm an Italian who moved to Colorado 15 years ago. I still go to Italy once or sometimes twice a year, but family and work end up taking all the time while I'm there. So, I've never been able to "close the account" with Pizzo Badile. I went to the Gianetti hut with two friends in September 1985 meaning to climb the Molteni route, but when we woke up the next day the fog was so thick that we had to give up. I'm quite out of practice with technical climbing, and wouldn't attempt the Molteni nowadays, but would still be happy to climb the standard route.

Re: Badile

Vielen Dank. Mit der Zeit kann man doch so manche Tour schaffen, auch wenn man nur alle 2 bis 3 Jahren nach Europa kommt. Badile war eine der besten Routen, die wir je machten.
