Great info Gangolf... I especially like the flora & fauna section of this mountain, they are great pix. I would like to visit this area in the next couple of years - especially the Azores. But this island seems beautiful. Thanks for sharing

Thanks again! I haven't been to the Azores (yet) because the islands are sso small that you have to keep hopping from one to the other (that's what I've been told). I prefer the ones were you can stay for two weeks at a time. And in that respect Madeira certainly is quite right. You might want to check out the Pico Ruivo page (which in my opinion is even better (due to the pictures, mainly))
