Overview

Parque da Cidade Is a municipal park inside Niterói City, a neighbour of the 2nd Brazil's big city: Rio de Janeiro. Parque da Cidade is a place very visited by tourists from all the world that visit Niterói. At the summit, the view is spetacular because the location is favoured by the nearness of Atlantic Ocean, Niterói ocean districts ( Itaipu and Piratininga district ) and Rio-Niterói Bridge. The Park isn't a great mountain but, have your good looks.

Getting There

The nearest city beyond Niterói is Rio de Janeiro. From Rio, you can take two ways to go to Parque da Cidade :
# 1 : Take BR-101 ( Rio-Niterói Bridge ) to north to arrive in Niterói( 14 km ). When comes in Niterói, follow the way to Charitas district, because the road to the summit start there. Viração road is the last way to get the summit.
# 2 : The 2nd way to get the mountain is the crossing by flatboat from Praça XV ( downtown Rio ) to Charitas station.

Camping

There aren't campings in the park, but you can stop your car at the summit and stay there to look the sunrise, the sunset and the paragliders.
