Thanks a lot Michael - it's nice to know it's being appreciated! I was rather surprised that the Untersberg didn't already long have a mountain page...it's a rather big topic, and I'm sure I'll still be adding more information with time, considering all the history, the mythology(!), the quantity of hiking routes and also the climbing aspect! As I say, any details as to climbing routes up the buttress of the Berchtesgadener Hochthron or the Geiereck are very welcome - I will add these immediately to the page, with the indication from whom I have the info, of course! For this weekend, "Kaiserwetter" has been predicted, so I've planned to shoot a couple more photos...Cheers, Eric
Well, yes, that as well, but, I mean, you've seen my pics for instance of the south wall of the Berchtesgadener Hochthron...That place is sought also by extreme climbers! So, like with many places in the Dolomites, it is in equal measure the mountain and the myths and facts as to what's in it...

So its not so much the summitbut Untersberg is more about what is under the mountain? Marble, elves etc.
