Flowers (possibly Woolly Groundsel, see mrh's comment below), and the spires of Flattop Mountain. This day an early rain turned us back from completing our climb of Tyndall Glacier..

Voted 10/10 | They are of the genus Senecio (groundsels), which is in the Aster family. Individual species in Senecio can be difficult to identify even using a technical key with specimen in hand. I wouldn't attempt to do so by photo, but maybe there is someone out there who is really knowledgeable in CO flora and feels confident enough to let us know. If I had to guess, I would say Senecio canus (woolly groundsel), but could not be sure. | | Posted Dec 28, 2004 2:22 pm |
