Agassiz

Nice photo. This is actually Mt. Agassiz though. I'll help you identify some of the photos you posted.

Middle basin?

Was this shot taken from Middle Basin, north of Agassiz? Nice pic!

Re: Middle basin?

Yes. At the time I posted this, I didn't know the area too well (as you might guess from Scott's comment above, I didn't even know the peak name), and didn't label it. I'm glad you noticed and liked the pic; I've updated the caption.

Re: Middle basin?

No problem. I've never been to Middle Basin or Mt. Agassiz. I tried to summit once about 4 yrs ago, but due to nasty weather, only made it to the saddle above Blue lake. Some other time I guess.

Re: Middle basin?

Did you go up a big gully from Blue Lake to a saddle west of the peak? That's the way we came down when I climbed Agassiz (a different trip than this pic). Middle Basin in early July was one of the prettiest places I've ever been (but maybe I don't get out enough), but the mosquitoes were oppressive; I got over a hundred bites on the trip when I took this pic.

Re: Middle basin?

I went straight up the ridge to the north of Blue Lake. It's just to the left (east) of the peak in your pic. Yeah, that basin looks great. I know what you mean about the mosquitos. Thats why I usually hit the Uintas in August. They've died off by then.
