How many of us get to do a route with the first ascentionists?
I had the privilege (and pleasure) to climb Grattan with Robie Mcdonald leading my rope of 4 and Rick Eppler leading a second rope of 3 on a perfect Vancouver Island day.
Three pitches of enjoyable, grippy, Sanctuary rock with views that went on forever from the summit.
Three double rope raps down took a long time with 7 of us but made for relaxing snoozes while Rick and Robie did all the work setting up the stations.
