Cost:
- parking pass at Loj Parking Lot ($10)
- map ($10) didn’t absolutely need, but was helpful (follow the blue blazes)
- camping (free)
- gas (dependent)
- food/groceries (dependent)
Travel:
- time: 7.5 hours from Royersford, Pa (bathroom and torrential downpour the entire drive)
- left Royersford, Pa at 6:00am
- arrived at ADK Loj at 1:30pm
Camping:
- free primitive camping
- slept in my car
- there is a trailhead to Marcy (I left from the Loj, had to pay $10 to park)
Hike:
- left from Adirondack Loj trailhead
- 50 degrees Fahrenheit at 6:00am when I left trailhead
- heavy rain the day before led to mostly hiking up a stream, trail was very wet
- took off the long sleeves halfway through (when sun came up, put it back on on the summit (windy and colder above the trees)
- there is a toilet/bathroom at Marcy Dam (~ 2 miles into hike)
- Facetimed my wife at the summit (Verizon)
- back to Loj at 12:00
- total time: ~ 6 hours (would have been faster if dry)
Gear:
- New Balance Men's 10v1 Minimus Trail-Running Shoes

- light weight, great traction, wet quickly but dry quickly
- Reebok cold gear, long sleeved shirt
- running shorts
- running shirt
- Reebok socks (took dry socks in a plastic bag, didn’t use them)
- Triwonder Professional 8L Outdoors Mochilas Backpack

- carried 1 16oz water bottle & full bladder
- (4) Aloha Protein Bars (plant based)

Stuff I Learned:
- could/should have had extra phone battery (Facetime killed it)
