Mt. McAdie, from the Mt. Whitney trail, Sept., 1965 -- I take a lot of pictures in September. This was with the funny little plastic camera I had then, which I often had trouble with. This was one of the few pictures I took with it that came out fairly well. I can't help noticing this was now 40 years ago, which reminds me of Moby Dick: what did Gregory Peck say? "A mild, mild, day, Starbuck. On such a day as this, I took my first whale -- 40, aye, 40 years ago." Ominous.
