"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

via the fire tower roadQuick forty minute jaunt up the dirt road. No views to be had since the fire tower is fenced off but I did find quite a few intact antique bottles in an ancient trash midden just outside the fence. Not as dry as some other glades in the Ozarks.

Mudlick and WaterVery hot and humid, and no views - but a quick plunge into a deep part of the park's 'shut in' healed all hurts.

Mudlick Mtn TrailI was visiting a friend in St Louis and we decided to visit this mountain so that we could get a "climb" in. No views but still an interesting place to visit.

Route Climbed: Mudlick Trail Date Climbed: April, 2002Summited and then spent a great night at the lowest of the three CCC stone shelters. Myself and another backpacker had fires going in each of the two fireplaces which made for a toasty night. Great views down to Big Creek from just outside the shelter.
