i know that Apikuni and Altyn are quite accessible from the lake, but how did you manage to get to Henkel? did you ascend Apikuni first, then take the ridge over to Henkel, or did you somehow pick your way to the summit straight from the lake?
From Natahki lake walk to the north, to the saddle in between Henkel and Apikuni. Class 2 all the way. Mostly firm talus. Once at the saddle take a right to climb Apikuni or a left to climb Henkel.
after asking you this question, i spent some time looking at topo maps and google earth, and figured that's what you meant. looks pretty simple to head up to that saddle. as you've said, sounds like an amazing early season summit! looking forward to getting up there sometime in June.
