Overview

Nevado Qampa is located in the Cordillera de Vilcanota in Peru, near Cuzco. It's a mountain that rests between giants. It is in the middle of the mountain range, a perfect viewpoint of the surrounding mountains, easy and perfect for people who want tostart in the world of mountaineering or mountaineers who are seeking acclimatization to meet another higher goal. The snowy Qampa has many routes open for accessibility. It is a very good option in the process of acclimatizing to ascend the snowy Ausangate, because of the proximity of the base camps. The camp of Qampa is also one of the trekking camps Of Ausangate.

Getting There

Cusco-Tinqui: Interoceanic road 2 hours and a half by asphalt road, there is a local bus "Huayna Ausangate" (Near the closed coliseum of Cusco).

Tinqui - Pachaspata: There are taxis in the main square that can drive you to the end of the trail without passing through the town of Pachanta. The trip takes approximately 1.5 hours.
