The Taos Ski Valley ski patrol often offers an avalanche course mid-winter. Check out their website regularly for announcements. The Pajarito Mountain ski patrol offers a Level 1 course at least once every other year (next one probably in Feb, 2012). You can check out nnmae.org for avy course announcements for the entire northern NM region. Cheers!
