OverviewConcavito (5.100m) is the smaller brother of El Cóncavo (5.200m.
In the range of the Laguna Grande de la Sierra it´s the easiest summit to climb above 5.000 meters. You only need crampons, no rope and no ice-axe.
Route DescriptionThe line to the summit is on the left, through easy rocks.
Follow the traces left of the lagoon, (not straight to the glacier, but more left). Climb easily some rocks (with steps of 1 or 2 meters), until you reach the snow (at the beginning ~ 30°).
If the snow is hard, put on your crampons and walk up to the summit. You will have a wonderful view to Ritakuba in the North, Concavo in the East and Pan de Azucar in the South.
Essential GearCrampons and protection against wind and snow-fall.
