Re: Wa-hoo!The shot is taken from Simba Col, which is out of view to the left of the frame. We were still on a circumnavigation of the peak to acclimatise and actually descended again from this point to the Hall Tarns on the Chogoria route. Hence no scree slogging! (Not that any signficant routes actually appoach the mountain on the scree that you see in this picture).

It is similar to...Pic du Midi d'Ossau though Kenya is many hundreds meters higher than Pic du Midi d'Ossau and there aren't those pastures in your pic...

Re: It is similar to...Yep... I can see the similarity. No elephants, buffalo or other menacing wildlife on the Pic du Midi d'Ossau, though. ;-)
