Well, south maroon had a considerable amount of snow on it, when we gained the south ridge there was a section that was covered in 60 to 70 degree ice my dad estimated. We did not summit. The ridge seemed to be fairly dry though, but dont take my word for it.

Where is snow line right now, still in the trees? Crater Lake? Above timberline?



I’m heading up there this weekend (Snowmass) and that why all the interest.

Sorry about the delayed reply I went climbing again, since my dad and I took the southeast col up south maroon, the snow line was right at the turnoff, which was right about at timberline, so it was a little above crater lake.
