| Got a bit of a late start and found this couloir to be a bit too warm. Took a bad left exit and had to retrace steps back to where we belonged killing more time. By the time we exited out the top the snows were too soft to support us and down-right dangerous on the final approach to Kit Carson summit. Backtracked down the way we came and created a rather exciting snow flow/avalanche while attempting to glissade the lower final portion. I rode-out a 12' wide flow for about 200 yds before coming to rest at the bottom. Wouldn't advise this sort of exit but once I realized I could stay on top and ride it out I very much enjoyed it. Failed attempt at KC but a pretty neat snow climb just the same. Spectacular weather today just a bit too warm for snow climbing. | |

| Honestly, The Outward Bound Couloir was kind of a let down. I was expecting longer and steeper. It was ok I guess but nothing that I would go back & repeat. | |
