I descended this route. It is a crappy, crappy route full of crappy loose scree and boulders in the summer. I do not recommend. As for the bristlecone pine roots, my feet did not touch anything that wasn't a loose rock ready to give way until I got to the glacier trail. Was like navigating a minefield...
