Snowshoe - Prosser Hill
Looking for somewhere to snowshoe close to Reno (that wasn't Tahoe Meadows), we decided to see what Hwy 89 had to offer. There's a brown interpretive sign by Alder Creek road that pointed to x-country and downhill skiing and we thought, "why not." Parked where Alder Creek splits (the only place *to* park) and just headed ... up. Beautiful views, lots of deep pow. Had to check a map when we got home to see where exactly we'd gone. Prosser Hill. Great snowshoeing in there. Maybe not much of a hike in the summer.
