Northeast Ridge, Mt. Triumph

Northeast Ridge, Mt. Triumph

Shirley following the heather ledges pitch. It doesn't look like much but it was I think the mental crux of the route. The ledges lie atop the overhung N. face of Triumph. They are downward sloping, dirt covered, and offer no pro. We stretched the pitch out of the notch in order for me to reach the first postively angled ledge. This simulclimb was extra spooky given the fact that there was little reliable pro between us (and no pro at this belay other than my heavy behind, July 25, 2004).
