Went up a few days after a recent late spring dump of 1-2 feet. Too bad it turned into soggy mashed potatoes, and wet slides all over. Still...the view is worth it, and turns are turns no matter what.
Fun turns from the summit. Stay in the trees if the bowl is baked. Note that the gate to Spring Creek Rd is usually gated after a good snow- the sign says to park in the Sno Park a mile down but you may park at the gate entrance so long as locals can get through. A steep and somewhat arduous skin up. Should take between 2.5 and 3.5 hours from car to summit.
Ascended the NE ridge, toting my board. Conditions on descent were a mix of wind-blown powder above 8K, then a crusty ice layer for about 500', and for the finale a nice 8-12" slush layer. Could have been worse!
