Felt a lot longer than 7 miles round trip to me =) Great hike though. Glad we started at 5 AM. I don't recommend bringing a dog. Once you get on the ridge for Fletcher it gets very tough on a dog's paws.
I checked the mileage on Topo, and it's accurate. Probably just seemed longer because it's a rough route.
