Not a reliable anchor

No, I would not trust this one, but we used it on North face of Sneffels. The terrain consisted mostly of loose rock, and climb was not difficult - especially the pitch below this "anchor" was more like a scramble on a loose terrain. Sometimes, speed takes up more importance in a high alpine setting, and pitch after pitch makes climbers less secure, or more confident of their NO fall climb.
