Not Clark's Arrow :)

Not Clark's Arrow :)

Originally I thought this was Clarks Arrow. It's on a prominent buttress below the Palisades, but alas, it wasn't. Clark's arrow is quite a bit higher, just below the Palisades. Leaving this up only to help others when routefinding. If you see this butress...head uphill to the left a bit ;-)

Wrong Arrow?

Chris, I think what you have there is some lichen that cleverly grew to mimic Clark's Arrow in an attempt to confuse climbers. Compare with this photo, posted by Mountain Jim.

I have some shots of the arrow as well (not on SP), and it does look like a different buttress than the one in your photo.

Re: Wrong Arrow?

Oh yeah..you're right. I forgot I posted this...but Eric Lee and I found the "right" arrow a few months later when we ran the Radical Slam.

This arrow wasn't anywhere near the right one :-)
