Not far from the summit area is this monument with a plaque stating

"In loving memory of Tobias Buchanon

1980-2002

Hasn't voted	Tobias Christopher Buchanan was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2002. I know his family is into outdoor sports (his brother is a former employee of my employer). Beyond that I'm not sure why the Buchanan's picked Copper Summit

	Hasn't voted	Thank you for adding that information. It is always sad when a family member is lost like that but perhaps Tobias had a specific love fro Copper Butte.

I just got an email from my brother Joel in North Carolina asking me about this photo. Tobias is our younger brother.
Copper Butte was a trip that Tobias and I had planned on taking together. I got too busy and canceled.
A couple of days after he was killed I had this plaque made and hiked up to post it.

Just working through some regret.
