George Durkee participated our country's most extensive search for fellow park ranger Randy Morgenson. Randy spent 28 years as a back country park ranger in Kings Canyon National Park until he just disappeared during the summer of 1996. "Randy knew the country better than the map did." commented another ranger. "The Last Season" is a "riveting biography of a complicated, original, and wholly fascinating man." The book grabbed me and wouldn't let go.
