I live nearby, climbed it again recently. Spent the night tent camping by Cooper's Lodge.

Fall Colors
With Flanders. Hiked up the Bucklin Trail after hitting the mall EMS in Rutland for supplies. Good fall color and fun rocky trail for the last part. There is no scrambling on this trail though, it's all Class 2. Good open views up top over to Pico. Decided not to do the ridge over to Pico this day due partially to a late start but mostly because there is no real "ridge." It's a ski trail over most of it and the "peaks" we thought would be on the ridge I think are mostly just the names of the ski lifts that go up to them. We hit Pico later in the week though.

From the lift hill to the summit
With my friend Arthur from the top of the lift. Summit was fogged. Never really counted it because I did not start from the base.

Along with Pico
Millions of flowering spring beauties, trout lilies, trillium and dogwood made the trail exceptionally fragrant. Really fun spring time hike!

two for one
The Bucklin Trail was closed so I hiked in directly from the Inn at Long Trail on Rt 4 at the Shelburne Pass. Moderate trail to Pico and then easy until you hit the camp at the base of Killington. The last .2 miles was much steeper. Six miles one way with the side trip to Pico and six hours round trip even with forty minutes at the summits. If the weather is good the views are fantastic.
I got nice and muddy!
This trail was short and sweet. There wasn't any views to be had. It was wet from the day before. I did however finally see a moose in New England. On a long enough timeline I guess it was bound to happen...

nice hike on a perfect, quiet day. great views today--i'd never noticed before that from the peak you can see trails on ascutney, round top, okemo, magic, and stratton. only disappointment was seeing how trashed cooper lodge has become.

Last Of The Vermont 4,000 Footers
From the Inn At Long Trail (which now seems to be a misnomer). A little bit of hail and snow on the way up. The Killington Spur trail was very cool.

Killington Peak
Climbed via the Bucklin Trail from Wheelerville Road. Tons of wildflowers in the valley down below. The trails were very muddy for most of the hike. Plenty of snow above 3500' to the summit. Not very many people out today.
