Hasn't voted | The Jeep trail that joins the foot trail near the peak was the subject of a bit of controversy in 2002. North Chalone Peak had originally been the planned site for the release of seven endangered Condors. These plans were scrapped when the owner of the property would not grant the biologists permission to use the portion of the road that crosses his property.
