South flank : the Bléone valley, atop of which deep glen was built Refuge de l'Estrop (also named refuge Roger Carle), alt. 2050 m. (about 3-4 h. walk from car park 3 km above Prads). Summer full service. Winter room always opened for about 20.

North flank : La Blanche valley (in fact "la Blanche du Lavercq"), completely different, as alpine as the latter is already mediterranean. The last hamlet (Le Lavercq - l'abbaye) hosts a private restored buiding used as a refuge throughout the year. Used to be kept by someone during the summer period. Room for 20.
