HVP offers some great climbing, but its camping potential is starting to show some signs of wear. Quite a few people, climbers and non-climbers have not been practicing LNT and there are pieces of litter and human waste evident. Holcomb Valley is a decent campground not far from the pinnacles. It has outhouses and I've never had trouble getting a spot, even during the peak season periods of late spring and early autumn. I hope everyone will consider using the campground to minimize the impact around the pinnacles. I'd hate to see this become off limits or restricted like Williamson Rock or parts of Hueco.
Where are the outhouses?! It seems more that "garbage" left behind comes from dirtbike riders and midnight gun shooters than climbers. None of my climber buddies have brought tin cans and filled them with bullet holes..........well, maybe a CD or two. :)
