Bob BurdEast side approach

Voted 10/10

"After approximately 1 mile, the approach trail continues on the R (L goes to Timber Gap) where the trail splits. Follow this to Glacier Pass, and on to Little 5 Lakes, a good camp spot."

That's a pretty sparse description, and a bit misleading. If one is going to Glacier Pass, there should be more description of how to get from there to Little Five Lakes since some of it is cross-country (and there are at least two variations - Black Rock Pass or Hands and Knees Pass). Perhaps you meant Sawtooth Pass instead of Glacier Pass and then take the obvious trail - it is longer but easier to navigate. There is a long description of the route from Mineral King on the Black Kaweah page, so maybe just reference it instead of recreating it.

Also, the other east side approach you didn't mention is via the High Sierra Trail and Kaweah Gap. This is a common approach, albeit a bit longer than the Glacier Pass routes.

Hey Bob,

check out my changes to the 'standard' approach from Mineral King when you get a chance, & let me know what you think. Will still put something in about High Sierra/Kaweah Gap approach.
