You may wish to add "full-body Kevlar" to your essential gear list. I think there are spots on my legs still bleeding from the evil brush on the slopes of this peak!!!
I call them hiking tattoos. After a while, all the scars pile up on one another forming a giant layer of thick skin-armor, like a triceratops. If you think Apache Peaks was bad, go try out Mae West Peak....ugh. Still, glad to see people out on those rarely-visited peaks!
