Weaver Lake can get busy

Because it is any easy lake to hike to and permits are not required it can get quite busy at Weaver on nice summertime weekends. People can also have their dogs on trails here and campfires during much of the year so don't be surprised to see these things out here whereas you don't see them in the neighboring National Parks.

But, if you go during the week or after Labor Day you'll likely see no one.

Also, during fall hunting season don't be surprised to see hunters along the trails, at least a mile or two in. This is afterall a National Forest where hunting is still allowed, unlike the neighboring National Park.

Otherwise this is a great page, great work!

Here's a link to a short trip report I wrote when I hiked the Jennie Lakes Loop back in the fall of 99...

Re: Weaver Lake can get busy

Thanks for the info! I was hoping someone would add some other information becuase I was almost certain there was more stuff that I didn't know. You can hunt within a Wilderness Area? I know it is run by the National Forest and I remember hearing something about being able to carry guns, but didn't know you could hunt. Thanks for the report! I will post it on the page!

Re: Weaver Lake can get busy

Yep, wilderness areas in National Forests and BLM land are open to hunting.

Thanks! I didn't know that. I updated the page with your input.
