Old Main and Couloirs

Old Main and Couloirs

Seen from the trail near Lookout Lake. Old Main is the largest and most prominent rock face on Medicine Bow Peak, though the Diamond, a short distance south, is more spectacular and has better climbing routes. At least one established Class 5 route exists on the face of Old Main. I scrambled up Class 3 and 4 rock from above the talus slopes near the right side of the face. Snowy Range, WY-- July 2010
