Old Man of the Woods

The scientific name of this mushroom- Strobilomyces floccopus translates as " a wooly mushroom that looks like a pine cone". The Old Man of the Woods belongs to the Boletaceae Family. In Polish mountains it is very rare and is under strict protection. It is considered edible, but not very tasty. The Low Beskid - Magura National Park - Slope of Magura Watkowska - September, 2008.
