Olympus, Blue Glacier

Olympus, Blue Glacier

I found, maybe 75 clusters of these on the rock ridge above Blue Glacier. We were heading for the Snow Dome on route to Mt. Olympus summit. Elevation about 6500 feet. Looking for the name???

Re: Flowers on Olympus

These flowers are Lewis' monkeyflower (Mimulus lewisii). Another common name is great purple monkeyflower. They are a fairly common plant of mid to high elevations, generally associated with springs and streamsides. Same family as the penstemons.
