Olympus Summit Block

This is the east face of the west summit of Mount Olympus. The standard route follows the snow covered ledge diagonally and then turns right where the snow ends cutting diagonally up to the right. The rock on the east face is loose and crumbly. To avoid these hazards, we ascended the north ridge which is seen here as the right-hand skyline. Photographed July 5, 2011.
