On a shortcut, we climbed up...
On a shortcut, we climbed up over a ridge and was greeted with this view of the mountains to the east of Rhodes Peak. A wolf was sighted on this shortcut by Dan and Bob, adding to the feeling that we were indeed in the true backcountry of the Idaho wilderness.

Yes, they claimed to have seen a wolf (the big liars) Actually, the thought of grizzlies being the area was more of a concern to me (chicken little) but as we went through the brushy areas where the brush crowded both sides of the trail, we yelled "here bear, here bear" and that did the trick, or was it Bob's singing that scared them.

Thanks for the comments.

When I'm climbing alone, upon coming to a dense area of undergrowth I yell, "coming through!" That's always worked for me. So far. Bears are nothing if not polite.
