Hasn't voted | I have bad news on Stukel. A few friends and I tried to drive up it a few months back (second week in June) and found the road blocked off. Not only was it blocked off once, it was blocked off continuously. Apparently high schoolers or someone was annoyed by this and have created roads through the treed areas around the road however, without a excellent, true SUV with high clearance you'll be racking up a repair bill.
The point is the path described for Stukel is now not drivable (in my opinion). It is still hikable although, there may be some issue with private land owners as I believe part of the road is private.
This is just an FYI for anyone planning a weekend trip to Stukel. |
