This abandoned stone building in Organ, New Mexico was a schoolhouse at the turn of the 20th century. The Organ Mountains form the backdrop of this photo taken on a stormy day at sunset. Although not a ghost town, Organ's current population of about 500 is well below the 1,800 residents who called Organ home when it was a booming mining town in the mid-1890s. Photo taken 9/29/07.
