Product Description

This 60-minute video follows a young (1999) Chris Sharma, with some friends, on an eight week bouldering spree across the American west (Castle Rock, Black Mountain, The Tramway, The Draw, Lake Tahoe, Humbolt County, Squamish). The video features several first ascents by Sharma including one where the problem is filmed in minute detail with each hold explained and demonstrated close up. This really allows an appreciation for the specific difficulties involved in the problem. There is exciting action throughout interspersed with life in a campervan.

Sharma at his Game
I think that even one who is not a boulderer would enjoy this video. It's basically a documentary about a young Sharma climbing up a storm from Arizona to Canada. Fortunately, the camera work is professionally done and the accompanying music seems to aim "for the middle."

I particularly enjoyed scenes where moves were shown slowed down (for example, a dyno) and in great detail allowing an appreciation for the skills of the boulderer (Sharma was accompanied by some excellent boulderers in their own right).

"The Draw" in Arizona will catch your attention with the rock being basically horizontal with some stupendous looking pockets.
