Pacific Peak from the summit of Atlantic Peak. The small lake on the right side of the photo is Pacific Tarn, the highest lake in the United States. Crystal Peak and Peak 10 are poking out to the right. 8-17-05.

Pacific Tarn

...and that little lake on the right is Pacific Tarn, certified highest altitude lake in the US (all of North America?) at 13,400'. I'd always wondered how much of the year it was actually liquid. Looks like this is the season for it. Nice pic.

Sure is. I climbed Pacific about 3 weeks ago and it was still partially frozen. It's a really cool thing to see.
