Peaks of Otter

Peaks of Otter

Page Type Page Type: Album
Additional Information Image Type(s): Hiking
The Peaks of Otter are a cluster of beautiful mountains on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. It is made up of three mountains which are connected by a shared valley. No one is for sure where the name has derived from, but some speculate that Scottish settlers named the area after Ben Otter of their homeland.
Sharp Top is most iconic of the Otter peaks. It was once considered to be the tallest in the Old Dominion of Virginia, but has now been relegated to 129th with little loss to it's grandeur.

Nice Album

It's been a long time since I have been in that area.

You probably should attach this to either the Blue Ridge Parkway area page or the Harkening Hill mountain page (or both).

Thanks for posting.
