Reminds me of a story

When I was in high school my parents piled all 7 of us into our station wagon and pop-up camper for 6 weeks out west. We toured Yellowstone among other parks. My brothers were 15, 5, and 4. We got back to our campground after hiking around in Yellowstone all day and went for showers, when my mom found my 4 year old brother's pockets filled with petrified wood pieces! My dad who worked for the Geological Survey with geode and rock collections in our house was livid beyond words...

Horrified, mom made him put them all in a plastic bag and marched him the next morning to the nearest park ranger. The sternly faced ranger took the bag from my cowering brother and once my brother was headed down the road turned to my mom and said, "Thanks, Ma'am. We get at least one return each week!"

P.S. We checked both boys' pockets at the Petrified Forest!

Your brother must have been so terrified! Poor kid...he probably didn't know any better at 4.

Terrified yeah, but we all get a good laugh now when we get together and reminisce!
